With over 100 years of rich history as a favored social meeting place, Hotel Kansas City offers guests an unforgettable experience that encompasses not just accommodation but also vibrant dining, entertainment, and event experiences. This unique establishment features 144 elegantly appointed guest rooms that provide comfort and style for visitors seeking to immerse themselves in the city's culture and heritage.
The hotel’s culinary offerings include the Town Company, a celebrated farm-to-table restaurant known for its fresh, locally sourced dishes crafted with care. For those looking to enjoy nightlife and live entertainment, the Nighthawk venue provides an energetic cocktail bar accompanied by live music performances. Guests can also start their day at The Lobby Market, a welcoming café offering breakfast and coffee, or unwind at The Classic, a stylish lobby lounge and bar that fosters a community atmosphere for locals and travelers alike. Hotel Kansas City is perfectly suited for social interactions and memorable experiences, both leisurely and professional.
For event planners and guests organizing special occasions, the hotel boasts 20,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space, including awe-inspiring historic ballrooms and a stunning 3,000 square foot rooftop patio that offers breathtaking views — ideal for weddings, corporate conferences, and private celebrations. The unique combination of historic ambiance and state-of-the-art facilities makes this venue a sought-after location for hosting events that leave a lasting impression.
The role of Event Planning Manager at Hotel Kansas City is a pivotal position that supports the hotel’s commitment to excellence and client satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Events, the Event Planning Manager is the key liaison bridging client needs with the hotel's operational departments to ensure flawless execution of events. This role demands a dynamic individual who can build and nurture strong relationships with clients, sales teams, vendors, and community partners, all while exemplifying Hyatt’s renowned brand of professional and personalized service.
The Event Planning Manager plays an essential role in collaborating with various departments such as operations, culinary, and service teams to deliver seamless, memorable experiences that encourage repeat business and positive referrals. Although the position primarily operates Monday through Friday, flexibility is required to cover extended hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on business demands.
This position is ideal for those passionate about working within the wedding market as well as diverse other event sectors, providing an exciting, fast-paced environment to grow event management expertise and contribute meaningfully to the hotel’s distinguished reputation. The role challenges the manager to bring an empathy-driven, customer-focused approach to every event they oversee, ensuring that every client’s vision is fully realized with great attention to detail and coordination. Joining Hotel Kansas City means becoming part of a team dedicated to hospitality excellence, historic preservation, and innovative service.
