Job Description
Heartland Dental is the nation’s largest dental support organization, providing non-clinical administrative support services to over 3,000 supported doctors across 39 states and the District of Columbia. With more than 1,900 dental offices under its wing, each office is uniquely tailored to serve its local community while maintaining high standards of dental care. Supported doctors retain full clinical autonomy and develop their own care philosophies, all united by a common goal: delivering the highest quality dental care and patient experiences. Heartland Dental’s commitment to putting its people first is reflected in its generous benefits package and dedication to equal employment opportunity, complying fully with federal, state, and local laws. As a company that supports more than 3,100 dentists and 24,000 team members, Heartland Dental is firmly established as a leader in dental support services and continues to expand its reach and impact in the healthcare industry.
The Marketing Events Specialist at Heartland Dental plays a crucial role within the Marketing team, specifically focused on the planning and execution of high-impact virtual and in-person events that advance the company’s brand and strategic priorities. This is a remote position that also requires ongoing monthly travel—typically one to two trips per month—to support onsite events, team meetings, and event planning initiatives. Reporting directly to the Marketing Events Senior Manager, the Specialist becomes a key member of Heartland’s Communications and Events Team, which is committed to delivering consistent, high-quality brand experiences.
This role is built for someone eager to grow a career in event strategy and planning, gaining valuable hands-on experience across various domains such as event logistics, material delivery, coordination, and multi-department collaboration. The Specialist is tasked with supporting the entire event lifecycle, including project planning, timeline management, registration, material development, post-event follow-up, and vendor coordination. By leading defined workstreams within large-scale events, the Specialist gradually assumes greater responsibility for end-to-end event delivery.
A core part of the role involves partnership across departments to ensure that events align with Heartland Dental’s mission, vision, and core values while meeting defined objectives and success metrics. The Specialist also plays a vital part in budget planning and management, applying cost-conscious decisions without compromising event quality or attendee experience. Coordination with external vendors, event partners, and venues is key, along with meticulous management of event materials, supplies, and branded swag inventory. Onsite event execution support, including setup, customer service during the event, and breakdown, is required to ensure a world-class attendee experience.
To succeed in this role, the Marketing Events Specialist is expected to analyze event performance and attendee feedback, using insights to recommend continuous improvements. Developing an understanding of the complexity of enterprise-level event planning, including cross-functional coordination and field impact, is essential. The role encourages creativity and innovation to continually enhance event strategy and operational effectiveness. Additionally, the Specialist is expected to take on additional projects as assigned, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and skill development within a learning-oriented and collaborative environment.
This comprehensive exposure to the world of marketing events at Heartland Dental makes the Marketing Events Specialist position ideal for those beginning their careers in event planning or marketing, providing a solid foundation to build expertise in budgeting, vendor management, and high-quality event execution. Heartland Dental supports the development and advancement of its team members, offering mentorship and opportunities for learning within a dynamic, supportive culture. The company’s strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion further enhances the work environment, making this an attractive career opportunity for motivated candidates seeking to grow within a leading healthcare organization.
