The Cook position at gategroup plays a critical role in the preparation and cooking of various food items, ensuring that airline food service meets the highest standards of quality and safety. In this position, the Cook is responsible for assembling equipment according to airline specifications and packaging alcoholic beverages for flights while maintaining compliance with sanitation standards and customer requirements. Acting as a lead, the Cook monitors production activities, supports leadership in overseeing team performance, and helps maintain inventory in line with company policies. Attention to detail is paramount as recipe conversion and temperature log management are key aspects of the job. Candidates must be capable of handling various food products, including seafood, beef, pork, poultry, fruits, and vegetables, and operate kitchen tools safely and efficiently.

Job Requirements
- Handle various food products such as seafood, beef, pork, poultry, fruits, and vegetables
- Handle knives and kitchen tools properly
- Work assigned schedule which may vary and could include weekends and holidays
- Work overtime when required
- Arrive to work on-time
- Completes paperwork and related administrative duties
- Complies with company policies
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree and/or cook certification preferred
- At least 2 years of experience cooking in a high volume institutional catering environment preferred
- Experience with maintaining temperature logs for all food items prepared
- Recipe conversion experience required to accommodate the kitchen’s daily production needs
- Ability to read, write, and follow food specifications and menu guidelines
- Effective communication skills with supervisors and co-workers
Job Duties
- Assembles equipment according to airline specifications following procedures and assembly diagrams
- Packages and prepares alcoholic beverages for airline flights
- Keeps production areas in compliance with sanitation standards and customer requirements
