Job Requirements

  • Completion of four years of high school or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years culinary experience
  • Ability to pass written culinary exam
  • Serv Safe Certification obtained within 60 days
  • Fully vaccinated against Influenza and COVID-19 or legally exempt
  • Ability to work day and evening shifts with weekend and holiday rotations
  • Reliable and able to comply with sanitation and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of four years of high school or equivalent
  • Judgment and planning skills for food preparation
  • Minimum of two years culinary experience, institutional experience preferred
  • Ability to pass Southcoast's written culinary exam
  • Serv Safe Certification required within 60 days of hire
  • Full vaccination against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption
  • Experience working in a healthcare food service environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare short-order foods and made to order foods
  • Perform scratch cooking including soups, stews, chowders, and chili
  • Monitor food quality, temperature, and flavor, making corrections as needed
  • Accurately extend recipes to ensure proper yields and cost management
  • Keep production and temperature records current and report issues promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of refrigerators and freezers
  • Follow sanitation guidelines and perform other reasonable duties as assigned
