Job Description

Larchmont Yacht Club, established in 1880, stands as one of the oldest and most prestigious yacht clubs in the United States. Located on the scenic Long Island Sound in Larchmont, New York, this private, year-round family club is celebrated for its vibrant community and exceptional hospitality. The club is renowned for its rich traditions in sailing, swimming, tennis, paddle tennis, and various social events that foster a tight-knit community atmosphere. The Larchmont Yacht Club prides itself on delivering outstanding experiences through thoughtfully curated dining options, exclusive private celebrations, and signature special events that highlight the club’s commitment to excellence and member satisfaction.

The Seasonal Bartender position at Larchmont Yacht Club offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dedicated food and beverage team that values high-quality service and teamwork. Scheduled from April 1st to October 31st, this in-person role requires bartenders who are enthusiastic, service-oriented, and capable of handling fast-paced environments with professionalism and flair. The role pays between $25.00 and $30.00 per hour and offers a flexible work schedule with 4 to 8-hour shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.

As a Seasonal Bartender, your primary responsibility is to create memorable experiences for club members and guests by preparing and serving classic and contemporary cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. You will contribute creatively by developing new cocktail recipes and helping to curate seasonal beverage menus that align with the club’s high standards. Beyond crafting drinks, you will provide exceptional service across various settings such as member dining areas, private events like weddings and regattas, and lively seasonal celebrations. Maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar at all times is essential, as is adhering strictly to all club, state, and local alcohol regulations, including verifying guests’ age requirements for alcohol service.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year’s experience as a bartender or mixologist in a high-volume environment and demonstrate a passion for hospitality. An engaging personality coupled with a polished and professional appearance is important for representing the club’s prestigious image. Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation, wines, spirits, and excellent interpersonal skills are critical for success in this role. Physical stamina is required to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods and to lift up to 25 pounds. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays through the season is also necessary.

Preferred qualifications include certification in bartending or mixology, experience within private clubs or fine dining settings, and familiarity with POS systems and basic computer applications. Working at Larchmont Yacht Club provides a scenic and supportive work environment where you can grow your skills, engage with a vibrant community, and have the chance to participate in high-profile events that enhance your hospitality experience. The club is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring a welcoming workplace for all team members.
