Job Description
Bottleneck Management is a prominent hospitality company known for operating vibrant, high-energy, and approachable restaurants in some of the most dynamic neighborhoods and locations. Since its inception, Bottleneck Management has been committed to fostering genuine hospitality by prioritizing people and the quality of service they provide. Their core values emphasize understanding the wants and needs of others, supporting team members through actions and words, empowering each employee to excel, and creating an enjoyable atmosphere for both guests and staff alike. The company has developed a reputation as a hospitality juggernaut, rooted deeply in its foundational values of authenticity and connection.
Within the world of hospitality, the Barback role at Bottleneck Management plays a critical and supportive function in ensuring the smooth operation of the bar. Barbacks help maintain the bar’s cleanliness, restock supplies, prepare garnishes, and generally support bartenders to deliver a seamless experience for patrons. This position is ideal for energetic individuals who are eager to grow within the hospitality industry and who are committed to offering genuine, quality service in a fun and casual bar setting. The Barback works closely with bartenders and the FOH Operations team to uphold practices that meet high standards of hospitality and customer satisfaction.
The Barback’s duties primarily revolve around maintaining the physical atmosphere and cleanliness of the bar area, carefully managing inventory from beer and spirits to fresh produce and consumables, and ensuring that the bar is fully prepared for service by cutting and sorting garnishes, mixing juices, and monitoring stock for accuracy. The role also involves greeting guests courteously, assisting in opening and closing the bar, and adhering to hygiene and uniform standards.
Bottleneck Management seeks Barbacks who are driven, upbeat, and eager to bring positivity to their workplace. Candidates should have at least one year of hospitality experience, a good sense of judgment, and an adaptive attitude. The nature of the work demands physical stamina as the role requires long periods of standing, carrying heavy loads up to 50 pounds, and working in various noise and temperature conditions indoors and outdoors. Employees must hold all relevant food and alcohol certifications as required by location.
Working at Bottleneck means becoming part of a team that values collaboration and mutual support. The company offers comprehensive benefits, access to employee assistance programs, and restaurant dining discounts. For pay rates and other financial compensation details, applicants are encouraged to visit Bottleneck Management's Careers Page. The position requires availability for variable schedules, including weekends, with operating hours from 11 am to 2 am, reflecting the dynamic and fast-paced environment of the hospitality industry.
Bottleneck Management is an equal opportunity employer, committed to non-discriminatory hiring practices and welcoming applicants of diverse backgrounds. They also adhere to E-Verify procedures according to federal regulations, ensuring compliance and fairness in the hiring process. The company promotes an inclusive, supportive work environment where employees have the opportunity to thrive and develop their careers in hospitality.
