Job Description

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens (CCBQ) is an established social services organization with a rich history of over 125 years providing compassionate and quality care to the communities of Brooklyn and Queens, New York. As a nonprofit agency, CCBQ stands out for its unwavering commitment to supporting individuals across all life stages including children, youth, adults, seniors, and those managing mental health issues. The organization hosts more than 160 innovative programs, spanning a wide range of social, mental health, and supportive services, aiming to foster wellness, recovery, and holistic care. CCBQ's community-based clinics offer welcoming and professional environments designed to address the diverse needs of their clients through a team approach and evidence-based practices. The clinics provide comprehensive mental health care including psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological treatments, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, medication management, case management, and supportive collateral services. Emphasizing trauma-informed care and physical-behavioral health integration, CCBQ ensures clients receive coordinated and culturally sensitive services.

The Fee for Service Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) positions available at CCBQ represent rewarding clinical roles within the agency's outpatient mental health programs located in Queens, specifically at Jamaica Behavioral Health Clinic, Corona Behavioral Health Clinic, and Rockaway Behavioral Health Clinic. These roles provide clinicians with the opportunity to make a direct, meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families coping with mental health challenges. The Fee for Service model offers clinicians flexibility with scheduling and competitive compensation ranging from $25 to $60 per hour depending on session length and type. Additionally, clinicians receive a $5 language differential per session for bilingual services, which is a valued asset given the diverse populations served.

Working under the direction of a designated Clinical Supervisor, fee-for-service clinicians are responsible for delivering ethical and professional direct service to clients through comprehensive clinical interventions such as initial intake assessments, ongoing individual, group, family and marital therapy sessions, crisis intervention, and coordination of psychiatric medication management. Clinicians are also tasked with holistic client care coordination, ensuring appropriate referrals both internally and externally to meet the broad needs of consumers and their families. Documentation is a critical aspect of the role, with high standards for timely and accurate progress notes, treatment plans, and clinical reporting required to maintain compliance and support agency reimbursement processes. The Fee for Service clinician participates fully in clinical supervision, ongoing professional development including continuing education (CEUs), and agency meetings which promote quality service delivery and professional growth.

Joining CCBQ as a Fee for Service clinician means becoming part of a longstanding, respected organization noted for its commitment to quality, cultural competence, and community partnership. The agency fosters a supportive work environment that emphasizes professional development, including CEU trainings (up to 21 hours paid by the agency), high quality supervision, and opportunities for career advancement. Clinicians also benefit from working in diverse, vibrant communities where their skills have significant impact.
