Committed to excellence both on and off stage, the organization continually strives to create memorable moments for its audiences while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for its staff and patrons alike.

Within Syracuse Stage, the role of Front of House Associate plays a critical part in ensuring that all aspects of front of house operations run smoothly during performances and special events, with the ultimate goal of maximizing the customer experience. Reporting directly to the Audience Services Manager, this position focuses on providing exceptional customer service, maintaining efficient organizational operations, and supporting a variety of event-related needs. The ideal candidate complements the theatre’s mission by demonstrating superb attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine interest in theatre.

Shifts range between 4 to 8 hours, typically scheduled in sync with theatrical performances and special event calendars, requiring availability during evenings and weekends. Flexibility is essential, as the Front of House Associate may be asked to shift roles or assist across different functions within the theatre.

The Front of House Associate supports the customer journey by managing bar operations in a fast-paced environment, including setting up and tearing down bars as needed, monitoring and reporting inventory, and coordinating set-up needs for various programming and rental events. This role also includes liaison work with vendors, caterers, and performers, ensuring all public-facing aspects of the venue operate seamlessly. Additionally, the associate may provide assistance in the box office when required, underscoring the collaborative team environment at Syracuse Stage.

As a frontline representative of the theatre, the Front of House Associate must maintain professionalism, adhere to Syracuse Stage’s dress code, and comply with safety protocols such as First-Aid/CPR, safe food-handling, and alcohol service standards. The role demands reliability, the capacity to multitask, and a welcoming demeanor contributing to a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons. The position also requires the ability to handle physically demanding tasks, such as lifting up to 30 pounds and standing for extended periods, reflective of the active nature of theatre operations.

Overall, this role offers a unique chance for individuals passionate about theatre and hospitality to engage with live arts in a supportive, fast-paced environment. Working as part of a collaborative team, the Front of House Associate acts as an essential ambassador for Syracuse Stage’s mission to bring world-class theatre experiences to life.
