Sales Manager Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research consumer needs and align the company’s solutions to address them effectively

  • Present sales, revenue and expense reports to the management
  • Recruit, motivate and advise a team of sales representatives

  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations, handling discipline and termination according to company policy
  • Ensure the achievement of company quotas through daily check-ins
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes efficiently
  • Resolve customer complaints, set discount rates, determine price schedules and advise distributors and dealers on policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Prepare and monitor sales budgets, approve expenses and represent the company at trade association meetings

Sales Manager Experience Requirements & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate sales management
  • Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies
  • Ability to interpret and analyze sales data to derive meaningful insights, helping in decision-making and strategy refinement
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms, online sales strategies and digital marketing methods to enhance the company’s online presence
  • Proficient in using customer relationship management (CRM) tools for sales process management and sales forecasting
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
