Sales Engineer Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough technical assessments of client needs and requirements to propose customized solutions
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer pain points and effectively communicate how our products or services address those issues
  • Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations and demonstrations to prospective clients, highlighting the unique value proposition of our offerings
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and the internal engineering and product development teams, providing detailed technical specifications and ensuring accurate implementation
  • Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, including the scope of work, timelines and cost estimates, aligning them with the client’s objectives
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive products and emerging technologies to advise clients on the latest innovations and best practices
  • Conduct training sessions for clients on the use and maintenance of our products, fostering a smooth transition from sale to implementation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the pre-sales and post-sales phases, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term relationships
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop technical collateral, including case studies, whitepapers and product documentation, to support the sales process
  • Attend industry conferences and networking events to build relationships, identify new business opportunities, and stay informed about market dynamics
  • Continuously gather feedback from customers and provide insights to the product development team for ongoing product improvement
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to address complex customer challenges and contribute to the overall success of the sales and engineering departments

Sales Engineer Experience Requirements & Skills

  • Minimum of [Number] years of experience in a sales engineering or technical sales role
  • Extensive experience in conducting technical assessments and translating customer requirements into effective solutions
