Salary: $35,000–$73,000

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), with the possibility of overtime beyond 40 hours per week

Junior Accountant Duties & Responsibilities

  • Post and process journal entries to record all business transactions
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices promptly
  • Manage accounts payable and perform reconciliations
  • Assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements and financial statements
  • Utilize financial software proficiently for various accounting tasks
  • Monitor and manage petty cash transactions
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets to ensure financial stability
  • Process and calculate payroll taxes
  • Identify and resolve any financial discrepancies promptly
  • Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Communicate financial information clearly to team members and management
  • Support the implementation of process improvements within the accounting department
  • Analyze financial information to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Support senior accountants in monthly and yearly closings
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and accessible financial records
  • Assist in special accounting projects and tasks as needed
  • Adhere to legal and company accounting guidelines

Junior Accountant Experience Requirements & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Junior Accountant
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software and computer systems
  • Familiarity with auditing processes
  • Experience in preparing tax documents and knowledge of tax regulations
  • Proficient in compiling professional accounting reports
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Strong critical thinking, communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Junior Accountant Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Holding a license, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and certifications like Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus
