Salary: $18–$31/hour
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday–Friday
Gardener Duties & Responsibilities
- Cultivate, plant and maintain various types of plants
- Develop and implement a watering schedule
- Design and implement garden layouts and plant arrangements
- Maintain gardens, lawns and hedges
- Diagnose and treat plant diseases
- Operate and maintain garden tools and equipment, such as lawnmowers, trimmers and irrigation systems
- Collaborate with other team members on large projects and garden designs
- Monitor plant health and make recommendations for improvement
- Engage in soil preparation and composting activities
- Help plan and execute seasonal planting and garden renovation projects
- Make sure gardening practices comply with environmental and safety standards
- Stay updated with new gardening techniques and trends
Gardener Experience Requirements & Skills
- Proven experience in gardening or landscaping
- Love for the outdoors and plants
- Knowledge of a wide variety of plant species and their specific care requirements
- Knowledgeable in using and maintaining gardening tools and equipment
- Ability to identify and treat plant diseases and pests
- Experience in designing and implementing garden layouts and plant arrangements
- Familiarity with soil management, composting and fertilization techniques
- Physical stamina and capability to work in various outdoor conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and projects
