Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), plus ability to work evenings and weekends

Communications Director Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and execute communication strategies in line with the organization’s goals
Craft and refine clear and compelling messages that resonate with target audiences
Oversee the creation of diverse and engaging content across various platforms and channels
Develop and implement internal communication strategies to foster a cohesive organizational culture
Write speeches for key executives, ensuring a consistent and impactful message
Build and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, journalists and influencers
Monitor media coverage and industry trends to inform communication strategies
Plan and execute public relations campaigns to enhance brand visibility and reputation
Lead crisis communication efforts, providing timely and effective responses to mitigate reputational risks
Oversee social media strategies to make sure that they align with communication goals and brand image
Coordinate communication efforts for company events, conferences and product launches
Manage content calendars to ensure a consistent and timely flow of communication materials
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on the effectiveness of communication strategies
Gather and analyze feedback from various channels to enhance communication effectiveness
Stay abreast of industry trends and communication best practices, fostering continuous professional development

Communications Director Experience Requirements & Skills

Experience in communications or public relations (PR)
Proficiency in digital communication strategies, including social media management and online content creation
Experience in brand management to maintain a consistent brand image across various channels
In-depth knowledge of the industry and the current market trends
In-depth knowledge of communication best practices
Experience in leading and managing a communications team
Expertise in crisis communications
Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with media outlets and key influencers
Ability to provide strategic communication counsel to executives and support them in public appearances
Strong writing and editing skills to create compelling communication materials
