Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe Manager Food Protection Certification
  • Culinary Certificate
  • Active CA Drivers License
  • One year of culinary training
  • Three years of culinary experience including planning, developing, and implementing recipes and menus, with at least one year of leadership responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Complex problem solving abilities
  • Team development expertise
  • Strategic planning and systems planning/development capabilities
  • Knowledge of computer word processing and spreadsheets
  • Excellent customer service skills

Job Qualifications

  • One year of culinary training
  • Three years of culinary experience including recipe and menu development with at least one year in a leadership role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Formal culinary cooking education preferred
  • Proficiency in Joint Commission, Title XXII, HACCP, FDA Food Code, and other applicable regulatory requirements preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate operational systems for Food and Nutrition Services including menu planning and food ordering
  • Oversee patient meal service, cafeteria, catering, hot and cold food production
  • Manage emergency meal preparation, purchasing, inventory management, and control
  • Develop recipes and implement menus ensuring sanitation, nutrition, and financial standards are met
  • Supervise operations to maintain marketing and meal presentation standards
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Lead and develop team members to achieve department goals
