Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a culinary role
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a kitchen setting
  • Knowledge of Department of Health regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to maintain quality and consistency in food preparation
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Lead and supervise cooks and kitchen staff during prep, production, and service
  • Expedite service during peak meal periods ensuring accuracy, plating standards, and timeliness
  • Monitor food quality and consistency across all stations
  • Assist in recipe execution, menu adherence, and portion control
  • Support daily prep lists and kitchen organization to ensure smooth service
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen sanitation, safety, and compliance with DOH regulations
  • Communicate effectively with the culinary director and front-of-house team to ensure seamless service
