Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • At least 2 years of experience cooking in a school environment
  • ServSafe certified or ability to become certified
  • Food preparedness experience required
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of food allergies and food allergy preparation
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collegially with cafeteria and school personnel
  • Honesty and trustworthiness
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Ability to handle loud noises
  • Basic math and food measurement skills

Job Duties

  • Food preparation and service of food as determined by the Food Services Manager
  • Assisting with the development of healthy monthly menus for the program
  • Inventorying of foods and kitchen supplies
  • Occasional coverage for vacations and holidays as determined by the Food Services Manager
  • Prepare kitchen, cafeteria or other space as required for serving and consumption of food
  • Clean and organize all kitchen areas and food storage areas
  • Maintain records to substantiate daily student meal charges
  • Maintain and control adequate food and beverage inventories
  • Various tasks and special functions/events as assigned by the Food Services Manager
