Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Ability to work flexibly between porter and concierge roles
  • Strong professional communication skills
  • Ability to handle physical cleaning tasks
  • Willingness to perform snow shoveling and light maintenance duties
  • Basic computer skills
  • Commitment to professionalism and integrity in workplace
  • No sponsorship for employment visa available

Job Qualifications

  • One to three months prior related Porter or Custodial experience or training
  • Prior concierge experience in residential building preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient with computer and Microsoft Outlook
  • Proven track record in similar role preferred
  • Team player able to work well with others
  • Strong customer service skills managing tenant relationships professionally
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • Exemplary work ethic with attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to take direction from superintendents and management staff

Job Duties

  • Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, laundry room, locker rooms and other work areas
  • Sweep, scrub, mop, wax, and polish floors and stairways
  • Dust furniture and equipment, vacuum carpets
  • Polish metalwork, clean tiles and saddles
  • Wash walls and woodwork
  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills
  • Empty wastebaskets
  • Clean vacant apartments as required
  • Check compactor, remove full garbage bags and put out for pickup
  • Sweep, mop, and disinfect compactor room
  • Replenish bathroom supplies
  • Replace light bulbs
  • Clean garage, basement area and grounds
  • Shovel snow and clear walkways in winter
  • Transport small equipment or tools between departments
  • Maintain professional presence and interact courteously with residents and guests
  • Enter and track work orders into system
  • Maintain building access security including monitoring security camera feeds and entrance areas
  • Recognize and escalate building or security issues promptly
  • Screen visitors and announce welcomed visitors via intercom
  • Assist with retrieving and organizing packages
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by management
