Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass criminal background MVR and drug screen
  • Completion of Wheelchair Safety Training course provided by Towne Park
  • Completion of HIPAA Training provided by Towne Park and if required by the hospital
  • One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must possess knowledge of customer service principles and moving people
  • Must be able to read and write standard English
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic math including addition subtraction multiplication and division
  • Ability to understand time systems including 24 hour and military time
  • Ability to operate computer and office equipment
  • Must be physically capable of exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and perform physical activities such as walking climbing and reaching

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to pass criminal background MVR and drug screen
  • Completion of Wheelchair Safety Training
  • Completion of HIPAA Training
  • One to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Experience with directing staff preferred
  • Computer experience preferred
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people
  • Ability to read and write standard English
  • Ability to comprehend and write simple correspondence
  • Effective presentation skills in one-on-one and small group settings
  • Basic math skills including addition subtraction multiplication and division
  • Ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer, fax machine, scanner, and copier use

Job Duties

  • Greet patients within 30 seconds maintaining professional and friendly demeanor
  • Assist visitors with directions information and general inquiries
  • Escort visitors between departments and provide wayfinding services
  • Answer telephone promptly and politely within company standards
  • Deliver messages items and/or amenities as requested
  • Remain at bedside of assigned patient unless relieved attending to non-clinical patient needs without physical contact
  • Alert nursing staff immediately if medical emergency or irregular behavior is identified
  • Verbally calm and reorient patients in cases of agitation or confusion
  • Respond to emergencies by alerting nursing staff
  • Explain procedures to patients prior to transport
  • Collect and return transport equipment
  • Ensure patient comfort safety and privacy during transport
  • Maintain tracking sanitization and distribution of hospital equipment
  • Remove visible hazards or broken equipment from immediate environment
  • Maintain accuracy and composure under pressure
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and business information
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
