Job Description

Alera Group is a rapidly growing national insurance brokerage firm founded in 2017, now recognized as the 14th largest broker of U.S. business. The company specializes in Employee Benefits, Property and Casualty Insurance, and Financial Services, serving a diverse range of clients with tailored insurance and risk management solutions. With offices strategically located across the United States, Alera Group prides itself on combining the scale of a national network with the personalized service and local expertise that clients need to thrive. The company values collaboration, accountability, and a supportive culture encapsulated in “The Collaborative Way.”

We are currently seeking a Part-Time Receptionist to join our Property & Casualty team at the Syracuse, New York office. This role is a critical frontline position responsible for managing all aspects of client and office support in a professional and efficient manner. The Part-Time Receptionist will greet visitors, manage high volumes of calls, coordinate conference room scheduling, and support various administrative duties like mail handling, document scanning, and office supply management. Candidates can expect to work on-site, embracing the chance to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment that fosters learning and development.

The position offers an hourly wage ranging between $20 and $25, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, Alera Group provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, and generous paid time off, despite the part-time nature of the role. Employee growth is also prioritized through the Alera Group Academy—a structured professional development program offering role-specific learning paths, leadership training, technical and compliance education, as well as industry certification support and peer learning opportunities.

This receptionist role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced office environment serving multiple locations. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, reliability, and a professional demeanor. Physical ability to lift and move supply and paper boxes around the office is also necessary. Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, is essential, along with familiarity in managing office equipment and facilities coordination—though these are preferred rather than mandatory.

Joining Alera Group means becoming part of an inclusive and equal opportunity employer that fosters a workplace free from discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status, or other protected classes. The company is deeply committed to its employees' wellbeing and career growth, providing a collaborative culture and meaningful work that impacts clients and colleagues alike.

In summary, this part-time receptionist position at Alera Group offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking to utilize their administrative and customer service skills in a professional business environment with growth potential and comprehensive support.
