Job Requirements

  • At least three years of prior experience working in a kitchen focused on cooking from scratch
  • strong communication and leadership skills
  • ability to manage your own schedule and schedules of others
  • computer skills

  • interact professionally with a diverse group of associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients, and customers

Job Qualifications

  • At least three years of prior experience working in a kitchen focused on cooking from scratch

  • computer skills
  • proactive and positive attitude
  • interact professionally with a diverse group of associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients, and customers
  • prior management experience, preferably in a culinary environment
  • NYC Food Handler’s certification, Serv Safe certification and Allertrain certification

Job Duties

  • Addressing customer service needs
  • hire and train new staff, and attending training sessions and meetings when required
  • place orders, reconcile invoices, take weekly physical inventory, manage budgeted food, and labor costs
  • ensuring that staff meet all, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations
  • plan, organize and lead food production, service, pack outs and/or deliveries
  • ensure food production and service is managed efficiently and effectively
  • preparation and execution for catering and events
  • communicate frequently and effectively with key points of contact in the school community including administrators, faculty, and parents
  • budgeting for the unit, including but not limited to directly purchasing ingredients, supplies, and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts
  • conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service
  • addressing customer service needs
