Job Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as a team member without continuous supervision
- Must be able to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Must communicate effectively by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for cleaning chemicals use
- Must complete onboarding in a timely manner or risk job offer rescindment
- Willingness to undergo background check and drug screening
- Must receive annual flu vaccine unless exempted
- Physical ability to perform fast-paced, physical cleaning tasks including walking and pushing cleaning carts
- Willingness to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays with shift availability subject to change
Job Qualifications
- Previous related experience is preferred
- Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Additional related education or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policies and procedures
- Plan and complete daily cleaning assignments effectively
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
- Empty trash containers including all medical waste containers such as sharps
- Inventory, restock and replenish supplies like toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in assigned areas
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of departmental equipment
- Notify appropriate personnel for equipment repairs
- Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors while achieving high customer service satisfaction
- Work under regular supervision at an assigned facility or area, collaborating with internal and external customers
- Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and bodily fluids
