As a trusted resource, the center welcomes over two million local, national, and international visitors each year, delivering enriching experiences and facilitating access to iconic landmarks and cultural attractions.
The Corporation prides itself on fostering a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring that every visitor’s journey is seamless and informative. Their commitment to excellence reflects in the operations of the visitor center, which stands as a vital hub for tourism, education, and community engagement in the region.
The role of Working Team Lead Housekeeper at the Independence Visitor Center Corporation is a part-time position specifically crafted for a motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced individual who thrives in leadership roles within the realm of facility maintenance and housekeeping. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in overseeing staff, ensuring quality control, and comprehensive housekeeping management.
As a Working Team Lead Housekeeper, the successful candidate will take charge of supervising a small cleaning team to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of the facility. Responsibilities extend beyond general housekeeping to include event room setup, managing in-house linen inventory, conducting final building checks, and closing procedures. The position also demands physical support and assistance across various departments as needed, underscoring the dynamic nature of the role.
Operating generally during daylight and evening hours, this role encompasses approximately 20-25 hours per week, including weekends and holidays, with a potential increase in hours during peak visitor seasons. The candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to addressing housekeeping issues and an outgoing personality suitable for engaging with visitors, enhancing the overall experience at the center.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to preserving and presenting one of the country’s most visited historical and cultural sites, backed by a supportive team and a commitment to employee growth and satisfaction. The Independence Visitor Center Corporation provides its employees with various benefits, including paid time off, a 403b retirement plan, gym membership programs, and commuter benefits, along with a competitive starting rate that reflects their dedication to attracting top talent.
