Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
  • Ability to handle ongoing face-to-face contact with patients, guests and staff
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Strong listening skills
  • Ability to work varied shifts including weekends
  • Flexibility to assist patients and guests with unique needs
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and staff
  • Prior experience in hospital or institutional settings preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Meets, greets and assists patients and guests and provides general information regarding the services, the facility and geographical area
  • Responds to special requests from patients, customers and guests, making special arrangements to ensure unique needs are met
  • Assists patients and guests with scheduling transportation or other services as needed
  • Gathers, summarizes and provides information to patients and their guests about the property and surrounding area amenities and establishments
  • Coordinates patient needs with other departments/areas, contacting appropriate individuals or departments as necessary to resolve patient requests
  • Coordinates access to the care delivery area, performs visitor authorization procedures, serves as a liaison between visitors and staff, and relays visitor concerns to staff
  • Answers phones, transfers calls, takes messages and relays messages and information as needed
  • Provides tours of the facility and walks customers to appropriate areas within the facility
  • Performs functions within established parameters with minimal supervision
  • assists with patient and guest inquiries to ensure a positive experience
