Job Description
Walmart Supercenter #1350, located at 3900 WARDS RD, Lynchburg, VA, is a leading retail establishment known for its vast array of products, from groceries to household goods. As part of the Walmart family, this supercenter is committed to providing customers with an exceptional shopping experience through dedicated service and innovative merchandising. Walmart stores are recognized for their community involvement, competitive pricing, and expansive selection, making them a staple for everyday needs across the United States.
This particular role is a part-time position at Walmart Supercenter #1350, offering flexible shifts including mid-shift and closing hours. The hourly wage ranges from $14.5 to $27.5 per hour, with the actual wage meeting or exceeding the minimum wage applicable to the job location. In addition, employees may be eligible for additional compensation through annual or quarterly performance incentives and premiums for working in specific circumstances such as particular shifts or seasons, which can range from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour.
The Food and Consumable Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operations of the supercenter. This role focuses on two primary responsibilities: providing outstanding customer service and creative merchandising. Associates will be responsible for moving incoming merchandise from storage to the sales floor efficiently to ensure product availability. They also create seasonal display features that are visually appealing and meet customer needs and preferences. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment and have a keen eye for detail and customer satisfaction.
Walmart supports its associates with a comprehensive benefits package designed to promote wellbeing and financial security. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage, as well as financial advantages like 401(k) plans, stock purchase options, and company-paid life insurance. The company also offers generous paid time off benefits covering parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting time. Additional support comes through short-term and long-term disability coverage, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, and even adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursements. Part-time associates receive Paid Time Off (PTO) that can be applied flexibly for vacations, sick leave, or holidays, with the amount depending on job classification and employment duration. Walmart also invests in its associates' education through the Live Better U program, which covers tuition, books, and fees for various educational programs ranging from high school completion to bachelor's degrees.
Walmart values a safe and productive workplace environment and enforces a strict no-tolerance policy against the use of illegal drugs and alcohol during work hours, aiming to ensure the safety of all employees and customers. This position not only offers competitive pay and flexible working hours but also a chance to grow within a reputable company that values its workforce and fosters a culture of respect, diversity, and continuous learning.
