Job Requirements
- Accredited senior high school diploma or valid equivalent
- Six months food service experience preferred
- Approved City of Dallas Safety and Sanitation Certification
- Knowledge of methods, material, equipment and appliances used in food preparation
- Effective planning and organizational skills
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English

Job Duties
- Prepare all entrees for breakfast, lunch, supper and other food programs
- Take the lead in preparing all menu items as directed by Cafeteria Supervisor or when no Assistant Supervisor is available or in the absence of the Cafeteria Supervisor
- Prepare meals according to FCNS standardized recipes
- Keep accurate count and record of food prepared and leftover
- Complete pre-preparation for meals as required
- Check and report availability of food and supplies to Cafeteria Supervisor in advance
- Properly use and maintain equipment and report malfunctions
- Comply with sanitation standards
- Assist with proper storage of food and supplies
- Set-up, monitor and replenish serving station
- Serve meals ensuring correct portion sizes and meal requirements
- Read labels and use appropriate chemicals to clean and sanitize
- Clean cafeteria and kitchen areas including wiping tables, picking up trash, sweeping and mopping floors
- Attend scheduled training sessions
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Comply with time and effort reporting requirements
