Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant server role
- Ability to communicate effectively and politely with guests
- Capability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Basic math skills for processing payments and checks
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Compliance with legal drinking age laws and verification processes

- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- High volume experience as a server
- Experience using multiple POS systems
- Knowledge of food allergens
- Knowledge of wine styles, varietals, and regions
- Knowledge of beer styles
- Understanding of liquor production and types
- Familiarity with tea and coffee service
- Experience with table service techniques
- Knowledge of proper service steps and techniques
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented mindset and strong work ethic
Job Duties
- Promote and act in accordance with the mission of Vic's River Grill
- Welcome guests promptly within three minutes of seating
- Monitor and ensure guest satisfaction with food and service
- Take accurate orders and ensure timely delivery
- Collect payments and prepare itemized checks
- Check identification to comply with alcohol laws
- Serve food and beverages and prepare specialty dishes at tables
- Answer guest questions regarding menu and services
- Inform guests about menu changes and daily specials with genuine recommendations
- Clean and pre-buss tables promptly
- Prepare and serve hot, cold, and mixed drinks
- Set up dining areas and food stations for shifts and large parties
- Stock service areas with necessary supplies
- Explain menu items and cooking methods
- Prepare tables with linens, silverware, and glassware
- Remove dishes and glasses for cleaning
- Assist host by answering phones, taking reservations, and greeting guests
- Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal
- Bring and pour wine selections appropriately
- Perform food preparation including salads, appetizers, desserts, and coffee
- Escort guests to their tables
- Garnish and decorate dishes before serving
- Fill condiment and napkin containers
- Recommend wines and describe beverage options
- Thank guests and invite them to return
- Attend employee meetings and suggest improvements
- Collaborate with coworkers to meet guest needs and support restaurant operations
- Fill in for employees as needed to maintain service standards
- Provide guests with local information and directions
- Record all tips accurately as per law
- Perform other reasonable tasks assigned by management
