The Server position at Good Game in Atlanta, Georgia, is a part-time role that plays a vital part in the guest experience. As the face of the restaurant, the Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and ensuring a smooth flow of service throughout their visit. This position is a tipped role with a base hourly wage of $2.13, exclusive of any tips earned during shifts. The Server must be adept at handling high-volume service environments, demonstrating skills in cash handling, credit card processing, and using point-of-sale systems to ensure accurate and efficient order management. Attention to detail and the ability to communicate menu specials clearly to guests are crucial aspects of the job. The role also requires responsible alcohol service, including checking IDs and adhering to all relevant policies.
Servers collaborate closely with kitchen and bar staff to coordinate orders and maintain the quality and timing of service. Job Requirements
- experience in cash handling and credit card processing
- at least one year of experience as a server in a high-volume environment preferred
- previous experience with a point-of-sale system in a service or hospitality environment preferred
- ability to stand or walk for the entire length of the shift
- ability to lift up to 35 pounds for set-up, service, and clean-up
- ability to maneuver between tables and around corners
- visual acuity and hearing sufficient to take orders and prepare checks
Job Qualifications
- experience in cash handling and credit card processing
- at least one year of experience as a server in a high-volume environment preferred
- previous experience with a point-of-sale system in a service or hospitality environment preferred
- no high school diploma or GED required
Job Duties
- greet guests, provide menus, clearly communicate restaurant specials, answer questions about menu items, collect food and beverage orders, serve items ordered, and attend to guests' needs throughout their visit
- accurately enter orders into the point-of-sale system so that kitchen staff can prepare food and bar staff can prepare drinks, as needed
- serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, request identification, and adhere to all alcohol service policies and procedures
- prepare and deliver the check to guests at the table, accept and process the payment
- collaborate with other restaurant servers, kitchen, and bar staff
- perform opening, closing, cleaning, and side work duties, as assigned
- ensure all equipment and workspaces are clean, sanitized, organized, and working properly
