Job Description
Burlington Stores, Inc., a prominent and rapidly growing retail corporation, is currently seeking a dedicated Corporate Facilities Technician for their New York office located at 1400 Broadway, 11th Floor. Burlington is widely recognized for its commitment to providing exceptional value to customers through a diverse range of quality merchandise, and it fosters an inclusive and supportive work environment for its associates. Known for its vibrant workplace culture, Burlington offers competitive wages, flexible work hours, and a comprehensive benefits package, making it an attractive employer in the retail and corporate sectors. The company is dedicated to diversity and equal opportunity, ensuring that all employees have the chance to grow and succeed within the organization. The role is a full-time, non-exempt position with a target hourly wage range of $17 to $25, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop a career in facility management and maintenance within a corporate environment.
As a Corporate Facilities Technician, you will play an essential role in the smooth operation and maintenance of the corporate office facility, specifically focusing on the support of conference and event planning needs, human resources programs, associate and furniture moves, as well as the overall safety and aesthetics of the building and property. You will report directly to the Corporate Facilities Supervisor or Manager and will be expected to carry out daily and as-needed maintenance and support tasks that ensure the organization's workplace remains functional, safe, and visually appealing.
Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating and executing conference and event setups, ensuring that all event furniture is maintained in good repair, and supporting the logistics of merchandise donation and surplus processes. You will assist in managing associate moves around the office and perform routine interior maintenance such as janitorial duties, painting touch-ups, and emergency response actions related to plumbing leaks, power failures, or other urgent building concerns. The role demands not only technical skills in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry but also a strong emphasis on customer service and operational excellence.
Burlington expects a Corporate Facilities Technician to be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while effectively collaborating with team members. Familiarity with computer systems, email communication, and specialized maintenance management software (Service Channel) is necessary. Physical abilities such as lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders safely, and spending prolonged periods on your feet are critical to the job's demands. This position is suitable for candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent; having a trade school degree or certificate is considered an advantage.
Burlington’s culture promotes associate development through various training opportunities, a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, holidays, and a 401(k) plan. Working at Burlington means joining a team that values hard work, fun, and making a difference in their communities. If you possess a strong sense of urgency, the ability to manage tasks efficiently, and are enthusiastic about maintaining and enhancing a workplace environment, this role offers a promising career path within a leading retail company.
