The Building Services Supervisor role at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn offers a unique opportunity to join this dynamic institution. This position is responsible for frontline supervision of Building Services and Patient Transport teams, overseeing the competency and performance of employees engaged with equipment and supplies used throughout their shifts. The supervisor provides leadership, guidance, and direction to teams within various service lines, such as Patient Transport and Housekeeping, to maintain industry and hospital standards.

Key responsibilities include resource allocation and monitoring tasks related to operations like bed discharge cleaning, in-between case cleaning, and patient transport trips, leveraging tools such as Epic to optimize service delivery. The supervisor will also play a crucial role in ongoing staff development, training, performance evaluation, and counseling, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, they are expected to participate in planning and implementing new programs, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control protocols, and maintaining rigorous documentation and reporting.

This full-time role offers a competitive salary range from $66,300 to $78,132.60 annually, depending on experience, education, and other factors. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of experience in related field preferred
  • Experience with data analysis preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
  • Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and maintain documentation
  • Willingness to participate in staff training and development
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion and quality service delivery

Job Duties

  • Provide front line supervision to Building Services and Patient Transport staff
  • Ensure competency in the use of equipment and supplies among employees
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment throughout the Medical Center
  • Allocate resources to complete tasks such as bed/discharge cleaning, in-between case cleaning, and patient transport trips
  • Attend and represent the Building Services and Patient Transport Department at meetings
  • Monitor compliance with safety, health, and sanitation regulations
  • Prepare daily reports and communicate operational concerns to supervisors
