Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior kitchen or cooking experience preferred
  • knowledge of food handling and safety practices
  • ability to use kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • ability to work under pressure and maintain productivity
  • capacity to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • manual dexterity and good sensory abilities
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens and other equipment
  • ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking quality and rotating stock
  • monitor, cook and prepare foods using methods such as tasting and food thermometers
  • prepare stations according to company guidelines
  • bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, and vegetables
  • season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables
  • carve, trim and prepare meats and seafood
  • bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries as needed
  • wash pots, pans, dishes, and cooking equipment
  • compile and maintain records of food usage
  • assist with inventory and food forecasting
  • prepare and serve food to customers in a timely manner
  • communicate with supervisor regarding kitchen equipment and supply needs
  • adhere to company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity
  • provide excellent customer service including greeting and thanking customers
  • perform other duties as assigned
