Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications
  • ability to work long hours as necessary
  • capable of light physical work up to 20 pounds
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • commitment to personal appearance and professionalism
  • adherence to company policies and safety standards
  • effective problem-solving abilities
  • ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • regular attendance and participation in required duties
  • willingness to participate in M.O.D coverage as scheduled

Job Qualifications

  • College coursework in related field helpful
  • experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • high school diploma or equivalent required
  • skilled in Windows, company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • effective listening and problem-solving skills
  • ability to multitask and prioritize
  • attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • attendance at required meetings and trainings
  • compliance with Highgate standards and policies
  • ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Attend daily Highgate Hotel Business Review meeting
  • develop a full working knowledge of the hotel operations including Food and Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations
  • enforce company sales policies and SOPs
  • meet or exceed sales goals
  • operate sales department within budget
  • participate in M.O.D and Saturday office coverage
  • initiate and follow up on sales leads
  • maintain an active sales solicitation program
  • monitor top account production and market trends
  • regularly contact existing accounts
  • meet sales solicitation call goals
  • invite clients for entertainment, lunches, tours and site inspections
  • assist in special sales promotions
  • prepare required reports timely
  • maximize occupancy and average daily rate
  • conduct professional site inspections with clients
  • manage hotel business using computerized sales systems
  • meet and greet onsite contacts
  • adhere to Prime Selling Time
  • develop networking through community and professional events
  • review meeting planner evaluations
  • entertain clients
  • handle inquiries as part of Inquiry Day Program
