Job Requirements
- Must be able to stand and remain on feet for extended periods of time throughout the work shift
- must be able to safely lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds
- must be able to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as needed to fulfill job duties
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service, kitchen work, or hospitality preferred
- ability to follow kitchen sanitation standards and safety protocols
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to function in fast-paced environments
- ability to collaborate with, and oversee the work of, kitchen assistants, including students
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasons
Job Duties
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, surfaces, and food-preparation areas
- operate dishwashing machines and ensure dishes and kitchenware are cleaned efficiently
- maintain kitchen storage areas and ensure safe food handling
- monitor and restock cleaning supplies and materials
- assist the Chef with basic food-preparation tasks
- prepare basic meals when needed
- assist with hosting day groups, retreats, and events
- train and oversee staff and student workers in proper kitchen techniques
- keep dining areas clean, organized, and guest-ready
- provide occasional support to housekeeping teams during low kitchen demand
