Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and remain on feet for extended periods of time throughout the work shift
  • must be able to safely lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • must be able to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as needed to fulfill job duties

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in food service, kitchen work, or hospitality preferred
  • ability to follow kitchen sanitation standards and safety protocols
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to function in fast-paced environments
  • ability to collaborate with, and oversee the work of, kitchen assistants, including students
  • flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasons

Job Duties

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, surfaces, and food-preparation areas
  • operate dishwashing machines and ensure dishes and kitchenware are cleaned efficiently
  • maintain kitchen storage areas and ensure safe food handling
  • monitor and restock cleaning supplies and materials
  • assist the Chef with basic food-preparation tasks
  • prepare basic meals when needed
  • assist with hosting day groups, retreats, and events
  • train and oversee staff and student workers in proper kitchen techniques
  • keep dining areas clean, organized, and guest-ready
  • provide occasional support to housekeeping teams during low kitchen demand
