Job Description

Em̄a, meaning "mother" in Hebrew, is a vibrant Mediterranean restaurant located at The Domain NORTHSIDE in Austin, Texas. Proudly owned and operated by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, Em̄a offers a unique blend of California-style cooking crafted by Chef Partner CJ Jacobson. With its brighter, lighter approach to Mediterranean cuisine, Em̄a provides guests with an experience reminiscent of a sun-drenched summer day. The restaurant features inviting indoor and outdoor dining spaces, perfect for enjoying fresh, flavorful dishes year-round. As part of the Lettuce Entertain You portfolio, Em̄a benefits from the reputation of a national restaurant group known for delivering exceptional food, service, and workplace culture.

The company is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join their team as Barback Staff. This position is essential to maintaining the smooth operation of the bar area, supporting bartenders, and ensuring that guests receive high-quality service throughout their visit. Barbacks play a critical role by managing inventory, replenishing stock, and keeping storage and preparation areas clean and organized. They assist in glass washing, side work completion, and may also take on related duties such as bussing, food running, and barista tasks as needed.

Working as a Barback at Em̄a means becoming part of a team passionate about hospitality, creativity, and professionalism. Employees enjoy a variety of benefits including paid vacation for qualifying staff, health coverage options with Blue Cross Blue Shield, dental and vision insurance, life and accident protection, critical illness insurance, domestic partner benefits, 401(k) retirement plans, restaurant discounts, and an Employee Assistance Program focusing on mental health and wellness. This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate various hours, including weekend shifts, making it a suitable opportunity for individuals eager to learn and grow within the hospitality industry.

The role demands a proactive, efficient, and safety-conscious individual who thrives in a fast-paced and sometimes crowded environment. Candidates will be expected to handle physical tasks such as lifting, moving stocked items, and standing for extended periods, all while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor with guests and team members. By joining Em̄a as a Barback, employees become part of a supportive culture dedicated to career development, teamwork, and outstanding guest experiences.
