Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum three years of customer service or healthcare experience
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer and keyboard proficiency
- Telephone etiquette
- Knowledge of office equipment
- Excellent customer service abilities
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Ability to oversee and train junior staff
- Must comply with HIPAA and regulatory guidelines
- Ability to schedule complex appointments and verify insurance
- Willingness to handle escalations and complex cases
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment screening (TB screening, criminal background check)
Job Qualifications
- High School, GED or formal educational equivalent
- Three years customer service or healthcare experience
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer and keyboard skills
- Telephone etiquette skills
- General knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- CHAA Certification preferred
- Experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment preferred
Job Duties
- Schedule complex patient appointments, procedures, and referrals
- Verify insurance and pre-authorization requirements
- Serve as a point of contact for patients regarding scheduling, eligibility, and financial clearance
- Ensure timely and accurate patient registration and intake processes
- Oversee and train junior access staff (Access Coordinators I & II)
- Develop and implement scheduling workflows, procedures, and documentation standards
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines
- Handle escalations and complex cases involving access or scheduling barriers
- Generate and analyze reports related to patient access metrics, appointment volumes, cancellations, and wait times
- Perform other duties as needed
