Key Holder Duties & Responsibilities
- Unlock and lock the store at the beginning and end of each shift
- Manage the alarm system, including setting and disarming it as required for opening and closing procedures
- Ensure that the security system is in working order, conducting regular checks to maintain a secure store environment
- Manage cash transactions, including operating cash registers
- Assist and engage with customers, addressing inquiries
- Implement and enforce security protocols to prevent theft and maintain a secure environment
- Train new employees on company policies, procedures and customer service standards
- Contribute to maintaining an organized and visually appealing store layout, including displays
- Safeguard and distribute keys to authorized personnel, following security protocols
- Identify problems with working conditions and promptly report them to store management for resolution
Key Holder Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in a Key Holder or similar role within a retail environment
- Proficiency in cash handling and managing financial transactions
- Track record of providing excellent customer service and resolving inquiries effectively
- Experience in supervising and coordinating tasks for a team during shifts
- Familiarity with security protocols
- Training experience, particularly in onboarding new employees
- Detail-oriented approach
- Proficient in inventory management and stock control procedures
- Knowledge of security systems
- Diligent and responsible attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and customer interactions
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational skills
Key Holder Education & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of training programs related to retail management, customer service and security procedures
- Training or certification in cash handling is a bonus
