Job Overview

We are seeking a Key Holder to join our team at [Company Name], contributing to the organization’s operational efficiency and supporting customer-facing staff with various tasks.

Key Holder Duties & Responsibilities

  • Unlock and lock the store at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Manage the alarm system, including setting and disarming it as required for opening and closing procedures
  • Ensure that the security system is in working order, conducting regular checks to maintain a secure store environment
  • Manage cash transactions, including operating cash registers
  • Assist and engage with customers, addressing inquiries
  • Implement and enforce security protocols to prevent theft and maintain a secure environment
  • Train new employees on company policies, procedures and customer service standards
  • Contribute to maintaining an organized and visually appealing store layout, including displays
  • Safeguard and distribute keys to authorized personnel, following security protocols
  • Identify problems with working conditions and promptly report them to store management for resolution

Key Holder Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in a Key Holder or similar role within a retail environment
  • Proficiency in cash handling and managing financial transactions
  • Track record of providing excellent customer service and resolving inquiries effectively
  • Experience in supervising and coordinating tasks for a team during shifts
  • Familiarity with security protocols
  • Training experience, particularly in onboarding new employees
  • Detail-oriented approach
  • Proficient in inventory management and stock control procedures
  • Knowledge of security systems
  • Diligent and responsible attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and customer interactions
  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational skills

Key Holder Education & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of training programs related to retail management, customer service and security procedures
  • Training or certification in cash handling is a bonus
