Fashion Editor Duties & Responsibilities

Generate captivating story ideas highlighting the latest fashion trends
Propose innovative fashion products, ideas and styles
Prepare market analysis on key trends
Discuss themes and ideas with the Editor-in-Chief to align with reader preferences
Research competitors and industry best practices
Represent the publication at fashion shows
Lead and guide a team of skilled fashion writers
Collaborate with designers, models and photographers for photoshoots
Choose and book photoshoot locations
Review photos from fashion shoots for publication
Interview designers and write articles about industry trends
Edit and proofread team articles
Manage contributor writer submissions
Coach writers on story formats, styles and voice
Manage the layout of the publication
Review and approve design changes, additions or deletions
Manage budgets and expenditures
Act as a liaison between designers and the marketing team
Attend fashion shows, meet designers and visit retail outlets to stay updated
Boost social media activity and maintain industry contacts
