Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness
- Ability to work Friday and Saturday 6 pm to 2 am
- Ability to drive to alternate shelter locations
- Ability to provide crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and data privacy
- Ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to pass background checks
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 20 pounds
- Availability to work variable schedules including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness
- Knowledge of child welfare systems and community resources
- Experience providing comprehensive supportive services to young people
- Training in youth development, harm reduction, or trauma informed care
- Desire for continuous personal and professional growth
- High level of personal and professional integrity
- Creativity to engage diverse needs and learning styles
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to organize, coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Preferred knowledge of best practices such as trauma informed care, strengths-based approach, harm reduction, positive youth development
- Ability to pass criminal, motor vehicle and DHS background checks
- Consistent, regular attendance is essential
Job Duties
- Ensure safety and security through high level supervision of youth
- Conduct regular safety rounds and room checks
- Develop nurturing relationships and maintain professional boundaries with clients and hotel staff
- Assist with case management and coordination of services
- Communicate daily with Program Manager and team members for consistent client support
- Drive between shelter locations as needed
- Carry resources and supplies to provide to clients
- Gather updated client information impacting housing eligibility
- Communicate post-housing services to clients moving out
- Uphold policies of The Link and hotels
- Manage Hotel Tracking Sheet and Wait List
- Ensure formal client check-outs
- Complete progress and case notes
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Foster a warm, welcoming community and culture for youth
