Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- at least 21 years of age
- one year experience in child welfare or related field
- ability to work extended and 12-hour shifts
- bilingual ability preferred
- ability to provide conflict resolution and de-escalation
- proficiency in Microsoft Office
- strong verbal communication skills
- ability to work in a team and independently
- ability to maintain ethical boundaries and show compassion
- ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- compliance with vaccination requirements
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- must be at least 21 years of age
- bilingual in English and Spanish based on service area
- minimum 1-year employment experience in child welfare or working with children/adolescents
- prior full-time experience preferably with youth or adolescents
- ability to work extended and 12-hour shifts
- ability to establish trust and positive rapport with children
- conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- strong verbal communication skills
- organizational and prioritization abilities
- ability to work independently and in a team
- proficiency with basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- ability to use visual and auditory awareness
- demonstrated compassion and ability to remain calm under stress
Job Duties
- Conduct intake services for incoming unaccompanied children including paperwork, assessment, and orientation
- provide basic needs support including meals, hygiene, clothing, and supervision of daily routines
- perform behavior management, oversee therapeutic activities, and intervene in crises
- supervise children and enforce behavior limits consistent with treatment and behavior plans
- ensure safety through appropriate interventions and 1:1 monitoring when needed
- maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces
- conduct regular 15-minute headcounts
- document services, incidents, and observations accurately
- provide therapeutic crisis intervention as necessary
- assist in social skills development, anger management, and daily living skills education
- support recreational and community inclusion activities
- report safety risks promptly
- assist in emergency evacuations
- build positive relationships with children, staff, and volunteers
- participate in group therapy as needed
- act as a role model exhibiting professionalism and adherence to ethical standards
