Job Requirements
- Valid medical card
- Must have a clean motor vehicle record
- Forklift ability
- Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds
- Forklift certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Class A license
- 1 year of driving experience
- Heavy and tractor-trailer driver preferred
- Safe driving skills with ability to drive large tractor trailers
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated and reliable
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize
- Experience with GPS tracking or Yard Management System a plus
Job Duties
- Stages trailers in a safe manner during numerous moves to load and unload trailers for scheduled deliveries
- Starts refrigeration units and checks units periodically
- Maneuvers trailers in and out of tight spaces
- Pulls loaded trailers away from dock and secures trailer doors
- Coordinates loading schedules with warehouse supervisors
- Assists warehouse dock workers with loading and unloading trailers
- Operates powered industrial equipment such as forklifts and clamp trucks as necessary
- Shuttles trucks to and from loading docks as necessary
- Performs routine pre and post trip inspections to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order
- Properly secures and straps heavy loads for travel
- Performs other duties as necessary and required
