Job Requirements

  • Must own non-slip shoes
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

  • Frequent use of taste and smell senses

Job Qualifications

  • Possesses at least one year of experience in a high-volume restaurant, resort, or private club
  • Demonstrated strong cooking techniques and practices
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Proficient in working all stations in an outlet
  • Experienced in preparing stations and completing prep lists on time
  • Mastered knife skills
  • Ability to expedite production during service
  • Capability to manage the outlet in the Chef's absence
  • Understands and practices cost control
  • Culinary ability to work shifts in any kitchen station or outlet

Job Duties

  • Adheres to Copper Culinary Guidelines
  • Owns proper culinary tools
  • Understands personal hygiene, safe food handling, and advanced culinary skills
  • Understands the importance of standards, speed, and quality
  • Responsible for a single department within the kitchen
  • Supports company philosophy, goals, and objectives
  • Prepares and works assigned station quickly and cleanly
  • Follows prep sheets with urgency
  • Prepares food to the Chef's specifications
  • Reads and follows recipes and standards
  • Manages food product quality at outlet
  • Supervises lower-level cooks in food handling and sanitation
  • Coordinates production with other stations
  • Advises management of anticipated problems
  • Assists in menu development
  • Assists in direction and supervision of staff
  • Creates and follows prep, cleaning, and closing lists
  • Assists in food ordering
  • Demonstrates teamwork with service staff
  • Completes tasks assigned by supervisor
  • Takes direction from Chefs and outlet managers
  • Assists with overall restroom cleanliness
  • Manages daily kitchen production and staffing in absence of sous chef or chef
  • Manages daily labor model
  • May supervise up to six employees including dishwashers and cooks at various levels
