Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • takes food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • delivers food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follows up periodically to assist with any additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advises guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • accommodates reasonable guest requests and notes preferences
  • communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests accommodated
  • exhibits exceptional communication skills and maintains a patient, flexible attitude with guests and staff
  • collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • promotes a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • addresses complaints promptly and relays relevant information to supervisors
  • ensures dining room is properly set up before and after service periods and maintains cleanliness meeting sanitation standards
  • operates equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborates with other departments during special events and functions
  • performs other duties as assigned
