Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of one year experience in veterinary practice or customer service role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Compassion and professionalism under stressful conditions
  • Strong telephone and computer proficiency
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Flexibility to learn and adapt
  • Preferred familiarity with Practice Management Systems

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • At least one year's previous experience working in veterinary practice or a customer-facing role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Compassionate and sympathetic with ability to maintain professionalism during stressful situations
  • Exceptional telephone and computer skills
  • Team player with willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to change
  • Preferred experience using a Practice Management System

Job Duties

  • Assume primary responsibility for answering the practice phone and routing calls appropriately
  • Maintain hospital appointment calendar including scheduling appointments from callers or visitors and reviewing online bookings
  • Greet all visitors to the practice and notify technical staff when they arrive
  • Monitor wait times and make accommodations during peak or busy times and emergencies
  • Participate in the training of new staff members and disseminate general practice knowledge
  • Ensure the waiting area is consistently cleaned and well-stocked with appropriate materials
  • Confirm all appointments by client preferred communication method prior to appointment day
  • Provide backup support to technical staff by assisting with room preparation and patient discharge when needed
