Job Requirements

- Minimum of one year experience in veterinary practice or customer service role
- Excellent communication skills

- Strong telephone and computer proficiency

- Preferred familiarity with Practice Management Systems
Job Qualifications

- At least one year's previous experience working in veterinary practice or a customer-facing role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Compassionate and sympathetic with ability to maintain professionalism during stressful situations
- Exceptional telephone and computer skills
- Team player with willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to change
- Preferred experience using a Practice Management System
Job Duties
- Assume primary responsibility for answering the practice phone and routing calls appropriately
- Maintain hospital appointment calendar including scheduling appointments from callers or visitors and reviewing online bookings
- Greet all visitors to the practice and notify technical staff when they arrive
- Monitor wait times and make accommodations during peak or busy times and emergencies
- Participate in the training of new staff members and disseminate general practice knowledge
- Ensure the waiting area is consistently cleaned and well-stocked with appropriate materials
- Confirm all appointments by client preferred communication method prior to appointment day
- Provide backup support to technical staff by assisting with room preparation and patient discharge when needed
