Job Description
Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is a vital state agency dedicated to improving the health, safety, and well-being of Texans. Job Requirements
- must possess valid Texas driver’s license or obtain within 90 days
- provide certified driving record if license is from out of state
- eligible driving record per HHSC Fleet Management policy
- pass fingerprint criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
- pass registry checks including Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System and Employee Misconduct lists
- males aged 18-25 must be registered with Selective Service
- able to work overtime, holidays, and flexible shifts
- must be at least 18 years of age
- comply with state and agency telework policies although position is not eligible for telework
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience operating motor vehicles with passengers or cargo preferred
- valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain within 90 days
- knowledge of traffic safety regulations
- ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively
- skill maneuvering large vehicles safely
- physical ability to handle lifting and extended periods of standing
- willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- operate motor vehicles to transport passengers and cargo including food carts
- attend work regularly and adhere to assigned shift schedules including overtime and weekends
- prepare and maintain vehicle operation records and logs
- perform basic vehicle maintenance such as fueling and minor repairs
- ensure cargo and food carts are securely loaded and distributed to avoid overloading
- comply with state and local traffic laws and safety regulations
- assist with food service and warehouse duties as needed
