Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy baggage and cargo up to 50 lbs or more
  • Valid driver's license, must be maintained throughout employment in this role
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and flight crews
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays, and nights
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipment
  • Ability to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulations
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
  • Fluently read, write and speak the English language

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience in aviation or ground handling operations preferred
  • Familiarity with aircraft types and airport layout preferred
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in the airport environment preferred
  • Experience operating ground support equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure preferred
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills for effective communication with colleagues preferred
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Basic computer skills for completing paperwork and using scheduling systems preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation and a positive attitude toward passenger interactions preferred

Job Duties

  • Marshall aircraft upon arrival and departure
  • Load and unload cargo and baggage on and off aircraft
  • Safely drive and operate ground support equipment including belt loaders, tugs, and baggage carts to pick up and deliver cargo and bags between the terminal, warehouse and aircraft
  • Sort and load baggage
  • Perform ground service functions such as connecting and removing ground power and ground start units and water service
  • Perform aircraft pushback, wing walking and related guide man functions
  • Maintain a secure work environment
