Job Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Texas Class C driver’s license and be insurable by the district
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Food Service office personnel, cafeteria, and contract warehouse personnel
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Physical ability to lift or carry 1 to 60 pounds frequently and occasionally more than 61 pounds
  • Willingness to perform various physical tasks including bending, stooping, climbing, walking and standing for long periods
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and self-directed
  • Demonstrates professionalism and appropriate job attire
  • Knowledge of district policies supporting department activities
  • Must maintain emotional control under stress
  • High school graduate or GED preferred
  • One year of truck driving experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of two-way radio communications preferred

Job Duties

  • Drive truck for food deliveries
  • Perform weekly pre-trip vehicle inspections
  • Load, count, and record groceries, food, meat, and bakery products
  • Deliver scheduled shipments timely and safely
  • Assist in unloading and stocking merchandise in warehouse and cooler/freezer areas
  • Clean loading area and yard
  • Return equipment such as racks, trays, boxes, and dollies to proper storage
  • Perform additional deliveries as necessary
  • Support warehouse operations including cooler/freezer assistance
  • Lift and carry heavy items regularly
  • Maintain professional communication with Food Service office, cafeteria, and warehouse personnel
  • Uphold professionalism and job safety standards
  • Follow district policies and procedures in daily tasks
