Job Requirements
- One year experience driving a van or large vehicle in an area of high pedestrian and bicycle density
- Customer service experience
- Obtain and maintain valid University of Oregon motor vehicle operator’s permit
- Forklift certification
- Maintain Oregon driver’s license during employment
- Ability to perform essential duties during emergencies and inclement weather
- Complete background check successfully
- Proficiency in effective communication and customer service
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safety and ethical standards
Job Qualifications
- One year experience driving a van or large vehicle in an area of high pedestrian and bicycle density
- Customer service experience
- Proficiency in navigating common computer programs and the internet
- Ability to work effectively in diverse team environments
- Demonstrated initiative and strong attention to detail
- Commitment to upholding safety-conscious work environment and ethical standards
- Experience with mail or package sorting, distribution, and delivery preferred
- Familiarity with inventory systems, transportation agencies, and shipping methods preferred
- Experience operating computerized equipment and diagnosing problems preferred
- Experience with all mail classes including standard, non-profit, and periodicals preferred
- Experience providing customer service to the public preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
Job Duties
- Transport domestic and international mail, parcels, and materials in a timely manner
- Operate vehicles and equipment including trucks, vans, forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Follow a precise daily delivery and pickup schedule
- Maintain excellent communication and customer service with university departments and external vendors
- Handle materials with discretion and professionalism, including confidential items
- Assess customer needs and prioritize tasks for efficient service delivery
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain required certifications
