Job Requirements
- Hold a current Class A or B commercial driver’s license
- have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role or industry
- ability to communicate clearly in English both verbally and through writing
- capable of lifting 50 or more pounds routinely and safely
- ability to work up to 10-hour shifts and up to 60 hours per week
- willingness to work in various environmental conditions including extreme heat, cold, dust, and wet
- pass pre-employment physical and background checks
- comply with all DOT regulations and driving record requirements
- possess a stable job history and dependable attendance
- be trustworthy and demonstrate professional conduct at all times
Job Qualifications
- At least 2 years of similar industry experience preferred
- current Class A or B driver’s license required
- experience in the recycling industry and ability to identify metal materials is a plus
- experience with van, flatbed, gondola, and roll-off trailers is beneficial
- proven ability to provide courteous and professional customer service
- English fluency in verbal and written communication
- ability to pass pre-employment physical, background and credit checks
- ability to meet Department of Transportation standards including driving record checks
- demonstrated stability and dependability in previous employment
Job Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles and container combinations for extended periods over long distances
- pick up, transport, and deliver freight safely and efficiently
- maintain professional public relations with customers and the general public
- execute customer service requests and material logistics accurately
- drop, hook, spot, or interchange equipment for loading or unloading
- weigh transported materials entering and leaving facilities
- communicate professionally with company representatives, fellow drivers, and customers
- complete transportation documentation including tickets, bills of lading, trip sheets, logs, and incident reports
- perform basic mechanical checks and communicate repair needs to mechanics
- comply with all federal, state, and local regulations including Department of Transportation standards
- work variable hours and manage repetitive tasks in different environmental conditions
- perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy materials, climbing tractor catwalks, balancing loads, and manually tarping freight
- demonstrate full competency in job functions and company policies
- follow safety, compliance, and operational standards at all times
