Job Requirements

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement
  • acceptable driving record in accordance with City policies
  • ability to operate buses of varying sizes
  • ability to work part-time, regular, non-exempt, union position
  • ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
  • compliance with drug testing policy
  • willingness to work beyond normal business hours
  • ability to interact courteously with passengers
  • bilingual skills preferred

Job Qualifications

  • No specific education requirements
  • previous experience driving transit vehicles preferred
  • valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement
  • knowledge of traffic regulations and customer service techniques
  • effective communication and problem resolution skills
  • ability to prepare and present accurate reports

Job Duties

  • Operates transit buses in all weather conditions and maintains order among passengers
  • announces bus stops and provides fare and routing information
  • completes and submits incident and accident reports
  • conducts daily vehicle inspections and reports maintenance problems
  • attends required training and assists with outreach activities
  • collects data for transit planning and scheduling
