Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • two years of culinary management experience
  • two years of technical school or equivalent training
  • ability to type 35 words per minute or more
  • strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • ability to communicate effectively in English both written and oral
  • ability to work flexible schedules including all shifts, weekends and holidays
  • ability to stand on hard surfaces for long periods
  • leadership skills including confidence and clear articulation
  • ability to create a positive work environment with open communication
  • ability to maintain camaraderie throughout the outlet
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures, and manuals
  • ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • ability to work with mathematical concepts
  • ability to analyze problems and draw valid conclusions
  • strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency
  • must pass drug screening tests
  • must pass auditions or skill testing as applicable
  • must carry a company cell phone at all times

Job Duties

  • support and uphold the Valley View Casino's Standards of Excellence
  • maintain positive guest relations and resolve guest complaints
  • greet guests courteously with personalized service
  • monitor staff for outstanding customer interaction
  • ensure kitchen operations align with department strategic plans
  • maximize cost effectiveness by adhering to budget and labor benchmarks
  • manage time, attendance, and scheduling records accurately
  • prepare, season, finish, and garnish foods according to recipes
  • collaborate with kitchen and service staff for efficient operations
  • answer guest questions regarding food selections
  • follow all recipes and quality control procedures
  • monitor kitchen staff productivity and address performance issues
  • provide regular feedback on job responsibilities and guest service
  • ensure availability of supplies and equipment
  • distribute workload fairly among team members
  • conduct daily huddles and meetings with direct reports
  • enforce safety rules and regulations
  • maintain clean and sanitary kitchen areas per state health regulations
  • comply with food and beverage health, liquor, and safety laws
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • conduct all responsibilities professionally and ethically
  • maintain consistent attendance
