Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged equivalent
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to follow safety rules and regulations
  • ability to lift and move furniture and equipment
  • able to perform custodial and janitorial duties
  • able to restock supplies and perform minor maintenance
  • willingness to perform event setup duties
  • ability to work indoors and outdoors
  • preferred texas driver's license
  • preferred one year of facilities maintenance experience

Job Duties

  • perform custodial and janitorial duties in city facilities
  • maintain attractive, sanitary and safe facilities for city staff and public
  • clean floors, walls and windows using manual and power equipment
  • empty trash receptacles
  • move furniture and equipment
  • clean and disinfect restrooms
  • sanitize toilets, sinks and fixtures
  • restock restroom supplies
  • replace light bulbs and adjust equipment
  • set up electronic equipment for events
  • perform painting and touchups as needed
  • prepare and break down banquet and event setups including chairs, tables, audio-visual and electronic equipment
  • perform limited maintenance of exhibits and public spaces such as painting, replacement of ceiling tiles and trim
  • conduct occasional outside building and grounds maintenance related to irrigation, minor painting, removal of debris, and cleaning of eaves and overheads
  • follow safety rules and clean up spills and unsafe conditions
  • report safety hazards, equipment problems, repair needs, security issues and emergencies
